New guidelines for cervical cancer screening were released in 2013. Screening includes the pap test and, for some women, testing for human papillomavirus (HPV). Screening should begin at age 21 and can stop at age 65 if you do not have a history of moderate dysplasia or cancer. This does not apply to women with HIV or DES exposure. Dr. Scheller can talk you through the new guidelines and how they apply to you.
